It was time once again for the 4 grandkids to take their summer swim lessons. I would go and watch just for some really good entertainment. By entertainment I mean 3 kids kicking and screaming each time it was their turn. Portlin did great and is swimming like a fish, but all the 3 year olds wanted nothing to do with it. At one of Tru's lessons Kayla said ok Tru it's your turn and she started to cry and scream and said, "spank me" we laughed so hard. She wanted to trade her lesson for a spanking. She got the lesson.

Grand Baby #6

Our new arrival is finally here. Bennett Hayz Gallagher was born June 4th. He was 6lb 12oz and 20 in long. Ashleigh did a great job and they are home and healthy. Briggs is so cute with him and already very protective of his "baby brother bennett".

Triathlon

Well I did it! I finished my triathlon that I had been training for. It was in St. George and the good news is the swim part was canceled. It was too windy for anyone to get in the water so we had to run twice. So it went run, bike, then run again. I say it was good news but I was a little disappointed because I had been training for the swim part. Maybe next time!Dutch, Portlin, & Tru got to have a sleepver at Nana & Papa's house!

Can I tell you how great it is to be in the delivery room and not be the one in labor. Wow! It's pretty cool. I'm so proud of Emily and Jason they did a great job. Jeff and I were honored to be invited. The spirit is so strong in the room when those little ones arrive. We are all shocked with her coloring. I really did expect a little dark baby to come out wearing a grass skirt and doing the hula. Her 4 cousins were so excited to meet her.

Fun in the snow

Jeff and I spent the weekend at the cabin with some of the kids and grandkids. Emily and Jason joined us and Brian drove up with Dutch and Tru. We were waiting for Emily to go into labor but we got nothin. Dutch and Tru had endless fun all weekend. Dutch said after hours of fun, (I love the cabin).

Thought I would do a baby update. Emily only has 18 days left and Ashleigh has 90. I'll keep you updated. Jeff and I are planning to go to Cedar City for the delivery. We are very excited for the big arrival.

Triathalon Training

So here's the deal. I'm turning 50 this March and I thought I would start training for a triathalon. Very slowly I might add I am old. So I started my training not without some careful surfing on the internet on just how to do it. I am totally cool on the running part, got that down.

I have a road bike and have done several races on my bike, now I just need to get the swimming down and then get them fine tuned to do all on the same day. Yikes. So for the swimmimg part I hired the most perfect form freestyle swimmer I know. Her name is Emily Aalona. She met me at the YMCA for our first swim workout. Wow, did I learn alot. Kicking, breathing, strokes, form and yes more breathing.

So off I go on my quest. This is my schedule. Swim, Bike, Run, Swim, Bike, Run. Rest on the 7th day and boy do I need it. So thats my plan. Wish me luck. I just hope I don't drowned. Ha

Jeff and I had a great opportunity to go flying with Rhett's brother in law Ray Horsley. He flys for Metro Air. He flys helicopters and airplanes. He's the guy you see in the air when they are looking for a suspect on foot or in a vehicle. Anyway it was so dang cool. He took the doors off the chopper so it was just us and the wind "oh" and a really good seatbelt. We will take advantage of doing that again. Thanks Ray.

New Grandkids!!

We're so excited that we have 2 grandkids on the way! Emily is due March 26th and Ashleigh is due June 10th. They both have been feeling good and haven't had any problems. Emily will be able to find out what it is next Fri! She has a strong feeling it's a girl but you never know. Ashleigh will be able to see the baby for the first time next Wed. so we will keep you updated with the good news!

Rhett and Brian have been playing on a city softball league. They are on a team with all their friends, so it makes it even more fun and enjoyable for them. The grandkids always look forward to their games because they love to support their daddy's!

San Francisco

I gave Jeff a birthday present this year to go to San Francisco! It was a nice getaway for the both of us. We were able to visit Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, shopping at Union Square, and dinner at one of our favortie restaurants, "Scoma's".

Rhett's 30th Suprise Birthday Party!

Ashleigh threw a suprise birthday party for Rhett at the Monte Carlo. She told Rhett they were going to Lance Burton and Rhett was much relieved when he saw everyone because he was glad he really wasn't going to Lance Burton. It turned out great and he was very suprised! It was good to have our family and Ashleigh's family there for support. Our kids are growing up so fast and we're trying to enjoy every minute of it!

I see the Temple!

It was time for Brian and Kayla to take their family to the temple! They were sealed to their 3 beautiful daughters in the Manti temple. It was a wonderful day and will be remembered forever. Portlin, Dutch, and Tru looked so cute in their white "princess dresses" as Portlin called it. They were so excited the whole week to put their dresses on. Bri & Kayla did a great job at preparing and teaching them about what they were going to do. That whole week all the wanted to do was "go to the temple and put their princess dresses on". We were so happy to have our whole family there in the temple!
